2022 Animal Grantmakers Conference - San Francisco Bay Area

This diverse group of philanthropists works locally, regionally, nationally and internationally on issues involving companion animals, captive and free-ranging wildlife, farmed animals and animals used in research, among others. Conference registration is strictly limited to members of funding organizations.

CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS (Subject to Change)

Join fellow funders working to protect and ensure the well-being of all types of animals at the 2022 Animal Grantmakers Conference in beautiful Berkeley, California, October 23 – 26, 2022. The 23rd annual conference will offer an unsurpassed opportunity to engage with peers, grantees and other experts in the field, and leaders of animal and environmental protection organizations in the region to strengthen our collective impact. With Animal Sentience as this year’s theme, this unparalleled conference will feature:

• Two amazing field trip choices to either 1) The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito and the nearby Marin Headlands for a nature walk; or 2) four local organizations serving companion animals: Cat Town, Muttville, San Francisco SPCA and San Francisco Animal Care and Control.
• Chances to socialize with new and old friends at a welcome reception, gala dinner, and at breakfast, lunch, and breaks. You may also sign up to join others for an informal "dine-around" at a local vegan-friendly eatery.
• Rich presentations and discussions with leading experts on a wide range of animals and animal issues, with a focus on Animal Sentience.
• In partnership with Farmed Animal Funders, sessions on ending factory farming and other topics of mutual interest.
• Discussions about how funders can advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in our work.
• An afternoon of TED Talk-style presentations just a short walk from the conference hotel at the Brower Center; the talks will be followed by a cocktail reception.
• Other dynamic formats, including keynotes, film clips, panel discussions, workshops, and more.
